!!GANAPATI BAPPA MORAYA!!

Ganapati Festival, this year 12 days festival started on 23rd August 2009, on Ganesh Chaturthi, the first day of Ganapati Festival.
We, at our home did the Puja of Ganapati, bringing the idol of Ganapati, early this morning. Now there will be Puja and Aarti daily in the morning as well as in the evening till Anant Chaturthi, i.e. Ganapati immersion on 3rd September 2009.

Swine Flu scare did not dampen the spirit of Punekars as they welcomed the elephant headed-god with 'Aartis' and chants of 'Ganpati bappa morya' amidst intermittent showers as the 12-day Ganeshotsav celebrations began today.

After the Ganapati Puja at home, we also went to various places to get the blessings of Ganapati.

This year due to Swine Flu many of the social mandals cancelled the decorations of Ganapati Festival, and instead of celebrating it in a big way as usual, they are trying to make aware the people about the Swine Flu.

But everybody, from small kids to senior citizens, people from every religion are celebrating this festival with cheer.

Pune - Okayama Garden

This Japanese Garden in Pune is named after Pu La Deshpande.
Purushottam Laxman Deshpande was a distinguished Marathi writer from the state of Maharashtra, India. He was popularly known by just his initials as"Pu. La." Apart from his writing, P. L. Deshpande was well-known for his all-round achievements as an accomplished film and stage actor, music composer, harmonium player, singer, and orator.
Today early morning I alongwith my friends visited this Garden to watch birds and we were fortunate enough to see many birds.
This beautiful garden is spread over 10 acres of land on Sinhgad road and very close to my house.
Here are some of the photographs of Garden and birds, I hope you will enjoy them.
